Port Pirie’s civic and business leaders gathered in July 2016, to discuss promoting developments in Port Pirie to the community, region, nation and the world beyond.

The strategic sessions, which SmithAssociates was invited to co-facilitate, were focused around reputational change and the need of a common platform for the many positive stories around both the Nyrstar Port Pirie smelter redevelopment and Port Pirie Regional Council planning projects.

Five pillars emerged, namely: ‘global and national value; sustainable; well-situated in the region; transformation and change; we care what you think.’ The final platform was to capture these five themes, and SmithAssociates was then charged with articulating these into a clear brand message and campaign. Here's what we created.

How did things change?

‘Port Pirie. Come See Change’ quickly became owned and proudly embraced within Port Pirie and the surrounding region by business and tourism interests, council initiatives and community groups.

Recently, Come See Change has featured across the Masters Games held in Port Pirie during 2019, also the Australian Rules Football (AFL) pre-season fixture at the new Memorial Oval.
